Residents at Kenwyn enjoyed a lovely outing to Woolley Animals, making the most of the sunshine with good company, animals and a well-earned ice cream.
The visit began with a relaxed picnic lunch outdoors. One of the photographs shows Marj and Ange seated around a picnic table with carer Amber and another companion, enjoying their lunch together in the fresh air. Spending time outside in a change of surroundings can be a simple but meaningful way to support wellbeing, offering opportunities for conversation, relaxation and shared enjoyment.
There was plenty of interest once it was time to meet the animals. The images capture Ange gently stroking a goat and later feeding the goats, clearly enjoying the experience. Several photos also show Amber and Ange smiling together as they feed the goats, adding to the cheerful feel of the visit. Residents also had the chance to feed the alpacas, making the outing even more memorable.
To round off the trip, Marj and Ange stopped for an ice cream in the café, as shown in the final photograph. It was a lovely way to finish a day that combined fresh air, animal interaction and relaxed social time.
Trips like this can offer valuable stimulation and enjoyment, while helping residents stay connected to the wider community. Everyone returned to Kenwyn with smiles and happy memories from a very pleasant day out.
