Richard White – Managing Director

Richard has worked at a senior level in both the private and statutory care sector and both as a provider and commissioner, for more than 20 years. He has developed and led large multi-disciplinary teams for regional and national care companies and ran in house residential care homes for Devon County Council before being promoted to the Sector Lead for Adult Residential Services in the Commissioning Team. Richard has the RMA and CMI Dip7 in Commissioning, Procurement and Contracting for Care Services. Richard is responsible for the performance of the company, as dictated by the board’s overall strategy and is the company’s CQC Nominated Individual.

 

Amanda Moreton – Senior Operations Manager

Amanda is a highly experienced Senior Manager with an expertise in Dementia Care services. She managed the DCC Dementia centre of Excellence before moving in to a commissioning role with the Local Authority. She has also run her own care business and managed multi-site provision. Amanda oversees the managers across the south of the portfolio.

Gavin Reeves – Finance Manager

Gavin is the Finance Manager. He is an experienced senior management accountant, with AAT levels 2, 3 and 4, and is currently taking final exams for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, ACCA qualification. Gavin has worked as a management accountant for several prestigious companies before coming to South West Care Homes. Gavin manages the staff who run the companies finance function from remittances and invoicing through to payments, and is also responsible for budgeting and financial forecasting. 

 

Nicky Grinton– Operations Manager

Nicky is a very experienced manager with a Level 5 in Leadership and Management and over 10 years of experience in the sector. She has worked for corporate providers like BUPA and HC-One, and also for smaller providers across Residential, Dementia, Nursing and Domiciliary care. Nicky is passionate about working with older people, and says “if I can make one service users’ day by spending time with them and putting a smile on their face, that makes my day as well as theirs, and that’s why I enjoy my job”. Nicky has come to South West Care Homes from a multi-site management position and will be working to Amanda to oversee the managers across the portfolio.

Hayley Silk – Group People Manager

Hayley is an experienced HR Manager and wellbeing Coach with CIPD Level 5 in People Management. She has 6 years’ experience as a trusted business partner in HR Management roles in SMEs and industrial settings, assessing and implementing core people practices which ensure the HR function enables and supports organisational objectives and productivity.  Hayley is skilled in the assessment and implementation of core people practices, ensuring the HR function enables and supports increased employee productivity within South West Care Homes, and keeps the company compliant and safe as it grows. Hayley brings a new and innovative approach to people management in our sector.
When she’s not working Hayley enjoys self-care, Yoga, meditation, paddleboarding, long walks & re-learning the piano. She is also an award winning author of a self-help book titled ‘Be a Warrior Not a Worrier’.

Mark Annette – Maintenance Manager

Mark achieved a BSc. in Quantity Surveying and worked for 5 years as a local authority QS working primarily on housing stock renovation and modernisation contracts but also some new builds. With the recession in the construction industry during the 1990’s, he retrained as a care team leader for the National Autistic Society and, after obtaining a PGCE in secondary education, transferred to special needs teaching .
In addition, Mark holds a commercial pilots licence; he has been flying for nearly 40 years and professionally for 25 years, spending much of that time instructing and testing pilots achieving their commercial pilots licence. Mark’s vast and transferrable skills have equipped him for the role of maintenance manager of South West Care Homes, keeping the portfolio compliant and safe as well as managing the handymen and external contractors.

Sue Wonnacott – Recruitment Administrator

Sue has come to us with huge office management experience and recruitment knowledge, including in the Care Sector. For the preceding sixteen years she ran Okehampton & District Community Transport, which involved managing a fleet of vehicles and drivers. She worked with healthcare providers and helped people, who were mostly disabled or socially isolated, to attend important appointments and meetings. As well as managing recruitment and onboarding for South West Care Homes,  Sue is helping to maintain the South West Care Homes website and social media platforms, including Facebook.
