Our Charity

South West Care Homes chose The Cinnamon Trust as our Charity of the Year because their work quietly changes lives, for both people and their much-loved pets. They support older and terminally ill owners by arranging practical help such as dog walking, feeding, transport to the vet, and foster care when it’s needed most. It’s a simple idea with a huge heart: keeping pets and owners together for as long as possible, reducing loneliness and bringing daily comfort, companionship and purpose.

The platform supports engaging activities, reminiscence, and interactive content that can be tailored to individuals and groups. It helps teams plan sessions that reflect personal interests and life stories, encouraging conversation, confidence and enjoyment. Put simply: it’s a modern tool that helps us keep activities truly person led, with plenty of smiles along the way.

We work with CareMeds to support safe, reliable medicines management across South West Care Homes. Their pharmacy services and compliance systems help ensure the right medication reaches the right person, at the right time, with clear records and robust checks in place. CareMeds also provides knowledgeable, responsive support to our teams, helping us stay aligned with best practice and regulatory expectations. It’s a partnership built on consistency, accountability and the shared goal of keeping residents safe and well.

South West Care Homes uses CoolCare to help coordinate the day to day running of our homes, supporting everything from care planning and finance to staffing and reporting. By bringing key information into one place, it improves visibility, reduces duplication and helps teams spend less time on admin and more time where it matters most: with residents. CoolCare also supports clearer oversight and structured reporting, helping us maintain high standards while continually improving how we work.

We partner with Person Centred Software to strengthen care planning and record keeping in a way that stays focused on the individual. Their digital care management tools help teams capture day to day wellbeing, routines and support needs, building a clearer picture of each resident over time. This supports continuity between shifts, evidence based decisions, and more personalised care. It also helps with compliance and auditing, while keeping the main priority front and centre: dignity, choice and quality of life.
