At Ashley House, Wendy has been enjoying spending time drawing and creating her own unique artwork, and her pictures are now proudly on display around the home for everyone to see.
Wendy has developed a real interest in art, using both coloured pencils and felt-tip pens to create a variety of detailed and expressive pictures. The images show her proudly holding up a colourful drawing of a fruit bowl, as well as a bright felt-tip picture featuring dandelions and butterflies. Another photo captures Wendy in the middle of drawing a still life study of a pot plant with cerise pink flowers, while a close-up of an orchid offers a lovely glimpse of the inspiration behind her creative work.
These art sessions are not only enjoyable, but also offer important benefits for Wendy’s wellbeing. Spending time on drawing helps to support her cognition and encourages her to concentrate for longer periods, which in turn helps her to feel calm and focused. Creative activities like this can provide a meaningful outlet for self-expression while also bringing a sense of achievement and pride.
It has been wonderful to see Wendy’s confidence and interest grow through her artwork, and her displayed pictures are a lovely way to celebrate her creativity with everyone at Ashley House.
