Residents seated waving Union Jacks to the music

Residents at Kenwyn enjoyed a lovely VE Day celebration with a cheerful sing-along of wartime songs led by Glenis and Keith.

The session brought a warm and uplifting atmosphere to the home, with residents joining in and waving Union Jack flags along to the music. One of the photographs shows residents seated together, clearly enjoying the performance and the chance to take part in the celebrations. Familiar songs from the wartime era can often spark memories and conversation, making occasions like this both enjoyable and meaningful.

The entertainment also brought plenty of personality. Images from the event show Glenis with Keith, the elderly man puppet, adding a playful touch to the performance. Another photograph captures Glenis singing and playing the banjo, accompanied by a partner on guitar, helping to create a lively and engaging musical afternoon.

Celebrating VE Day in this way gave residents the opportunity to come together, enjoy live entertainment and reflect on an important moment in history through music. Shared experiences such as these can support wellbeing by encouraging participation, reminiscence and social connection.

It was a lovely way for everyone at Kenwyn to mark the occasion, with music, flags and plenty of community spirit.
