Residents, staff and visitors at Michaelstowe came together on Tuesday for Time for a Cuppa in support of Dementia UK, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with conversation, music and community spirit.

The event included a delicious bake sale, live music and the opportunity to spend time together over tea and cake. The photographs show a wonderful mix of activity throughout the day, from residents enjoying a cuppa beside the cake table to people dancing in the lounge as live music played. One image captures a resident singing into a microphone, while others show residents clapping along and enjoying the entertainment together.

A particularly meaningful part of the day was a visit from two local Admiral Nurses, whose presence added another valuable dimension to the event. One of the photographs shows the nurses meeting with staff outside on the decking, reflecting the wider support and conversations that took place during the day.

The decorated bake sale table, complete with cakes, bunting and balloons, helped make the occasion feel festive, and there was even a guess the weight of the cake competition to add a little extra fun. As well as raising funds, events like this are important for encouraging connection, raising awareness and creating opportunities to talk about dementia in a supportive and friendly setting.

Michaelstowe has thanked everyone who attended and helped make the event so special, with the day clearly showing the power of community, kindness and shared purpose.
