Residents at Ashley House made the most of a sunny afternoon by spending time outdoors, with some heading out for a walk and others relaxing in the comfort of the garden.

The warm weather provided a lovely opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and take in the surroundings. Photos show a resident and carer walking beside the river in the sunshine, while another image captures residents and a member of staff posing together with the river in the background. A cheerful group selfie also reflects the relaxed and sociable feel of the afternoon.

Back at the home, other residents enjoyed sitting outside in the garden, including under the wooden gazebo where there was shade and a comfortable place to unwind. One gentleman was pictured enjoying the sunshine on a bench as a carer handed him a pot of ice cream, while another resident sat with a glass of squash and a sun hat, making the most of the warm weather in her own way.

Spending time outdoors can bring many benefits for residents’ wellbeing. Gentle walking can encourage mobility, while fresh air and sunshine can help to enhance mood, support mental health and boost vitamin D levels. Just as importantly, time outside offers space to relax, socialise and enjoy simple moments together.

It was a peaceful and positive afternoon, with residents able to enjoy the sunshine in ways that suited them best.
