Residents at Ashley House enjoyed a lovely session of flower arranging, creating beautiful displays for the home while taking in the colour, texture and fragrance of the flowers.

The activity offered a relaxing and engaging way for residents to spend time together, with plenty of conversation flowing as each arrangement began to take shape. Photographs show Herta and Maggie working together, with Herta placing flowers into a vase while Maggie carefully cuts the stems. Elsewhere, Barb and Jean are pictured choosing flowers for their display, while Nellie, Pauline and Jean are shown adding their own finishing touches, including pink roses and purple blooms.

The session was especially enjoyed by the home’s two newest ladies, who took part enthusiastically and engaged well with the activity. Flower arranging can be a wonderful way to support wellbeing, encouraging creativity, conversation and gentle use of fine motor skills, all while offering calming visual and fragrant stimulation.

One image shows Nellie’s finished arrangement, while another captures all of the completed vases together on a table, ready to be displayed around the home. The finished pieces brought a cheerful burst of colour to Ashley House and reflected the care and attention residents put into their work.

It was a simple but rewarding activity, and one that brought enjoyment, connection and a real sense of achievement to everyone involved.
