Residents at Kenwyn have been enjoying a lovely gardening project, beginning with a trip to Plants Galore in Topsham to choose new plants for the courtyard.
Lesley enjoyed the drive to the garden centre, where she helped select plants to bring extra colour and life to the outdoor space. One of the photographs shows her with a trolley full of plants, ready to take back to Kenwyn and transform the courtyard.
Back at the home, Marj has been playing a wonderful part in helping to brighten the area. The images show her smiling as she clears out a large free-standing planter, before working alongside a carer to arrange the plants around the courtyard ready for planting. Another photo captures Marj and a member of staff kneeling together in front of a planter as they begin adding the new plants.
Gardening activities like this offer much more than a refreshed outdoor area. They can encourage gentle physical activity, support wellbeing and provide a strong sense of purpose and achievement. Spending time with soil, plants and fresh air can also be incredibly uplifting, while creating spaces that everyone in the home can enjoy.
At Kenwyn, it has been a pleasure to see residents getting involved and helping to make the courtyard an even brighter and more welcoming place.
