Residents and families at Ashley House enjoyed a wonderfully lively Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, filled with laughter, homemade treats and plenty of playful fun.
The home embraced the theme with enthusiasm, creating a cheerful and slightly chaotic afternoon that brought everyone together. Photographs from the event show beautifully laid tables with cakes, cupcakes and Mad Hatter-inspired decorations, while residents gathered in the conservatory to enjoy tea, sandwiches and lots of scrummy homemade cakes. Outside, one lovely image captures Violet and her family sitting together on a bench in their hats, making the most of the occasion.
There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, with fun games that residents and families could all take part in. Props were also on hand for photographs, adding an extra sense of fun to the afternoon. The pictures show residents and supporters getting involved with character-themed accessories, including top hats, wigs, masks, moustaches and cut-outs. Bill and Robin both embraced the Mad Hatter look in bright orange wigs and black hats, while others enjoyed posing with their own imaginative props.
As well as being a joyful social event, the tea party also helped to raise funds for Dementia UK. Ashley House has given special thanks to Tesco community person Wendy for kindly donating cakes for the event.
With tea, laughter, family time and a touch of nonsense, the afternoon was a lovely way to support a good cause while creating meaningful moments for residents and their loved ones. As Angie Mileham put it: “I’m late, I’m late for a very important date…”
