At Lake View, supporting residents to maintain their independence and continue enjoying familiar routines is an important part of everyday life.
For many people, simple activities such as writing a shopping list, visiting the supermarket and choosing their own purchases have been part of their daily routines for years. Continuing these familiar experiences can help residents maintain their confidence, independence and sense of purpose, while providing valuable opportunities for social interaction.
Resident Jenny particularly enjoys her weekly shopping trips to Tesco, where she can browse the aisles, pick up a few things and enjoy a little retail therapy. On her latest outing, Jenny even treated herself to a lovely new T-shirt!
On the way home, there was also time for a special stop at the church Jenny used to attend. Unfortunately, the doors were closed on this occasion, but perhaps there will be another opportunity to visit in the future.
It was a lovely outing that showed how everyday activities can make a meaningful difference, helping residents stay connected to the places, routines and experiences that matter to them.
