A group of residents from Cambrian Lodge enjoyed a really lovely day out at Brakenwood Plant and Garden Centre, combining fresh ideas for the home’s outdoor spaces with time to relax together.

During the visit, residents helped choose herb plants for a planned new herb garden, as well as plants for the patio pots to create a colourful display. The photographs capture lots of happy moments from the outing, including residents walking around the garden centre together, chatting as they looked at the plants, and one male resident pausing to smell a herb plant. Another image shows a trolley filled with their chosen plants, ready to be taken back to the home.

The trip was not only about gardening inspiration, but also about enjoying each other’s company. One lovely photograph shows a resident and carer walking hand in hand, while others show residents and staff smiling together beside displays of plants. There was also time for a well-earned stop in the café, where residents enjoyed a delicious cuppa and cake together. Images from the café show residents gathered around the table with tea and sweet treats, clearly making the most of the outing.

Days like this can make a real difference to wellbeing, offering fresh air, choice, conversation and a sense of involvement in shared projects around the home. Everyone now has the pleasure of looking forward to seeing their new herbs and plants settled into place at Cambrian Lodge.
