Residents at The Firs brought a little floral flair to the day as Eileen, Chris and Shirley enjoyed decorating biscuits inspired by the Chelsea Flower Show.
Using icing and flower designs, they created a lovely selection of colourful biscuits while chatting together about their favourite flowers. The activity was a gentle and enjoyable way to celebrate the season, combining creativity with conversation in a relaxed setting.
The finished biscuits looked bright and cheerful, with photographs showing plates of biscuits decorated with pink and purple icing flowers, green piped stems and leaves, as well as designs featuring red and yellow flowers. Each biscuit had its own character, and the colourful results reflected the care and imagination that went into making them.
Activities like this can support wellbeing in simple but meaningful ways. Decorating biscuits encourages concentration and fine motor skills, while talking about favourite flowers can spark memories and help residents share personal interests and experiences. It also offers a chance to enjoy each other’s company and take pride in something created by hand.
At The Firs, it was a sweet and creative way to mark the Chelsea Flower Show, with plenty of colour, conversation and enjoyment along the way.
