Residents at The Firs enjoyed a creative and cheerful flower arranging session inspired by the Chelsea Flower Show.
Chris, Jane, Shirley and Eileen spent time together making beautiful floral arrangements to brighten different areas around the home, as well as their own rooms. The activity gave residents the chance to work with a lovely selection of flowers, choosing colours and placing stems carefully to create displays with their own individual style.
The photographs from the session show residents seated together around a table filled with flowers, thoughtfully arranging blooms into containers and foam bases. Another image captures Joan concentrating on her own arrangement, showing the calm focus and enjoyment the activity encouraged.
Flower arranging is a gentle but very engaging activity, offering opportunities for creativity, conversation and sensory enjoyment. The colours, textures and scents of the flowers can all help create a relaxing atmosphere, while the finished displays bring a real sense of achievement and pride. It is also a lovely way for residents to personalise their own spaces and add something fresh and seasonal around the home.
At The Firs, the session was a simple and enjoyable way to celebrate the Chelsea Flower Show, with residents creating arrangements that will bring colour and pleasure for days to come.
