There has been plenty of excitement at Cambrian Lodge following the arrival of some very special new visitors — duck eggs.

Last week, the eggs arrived safely at the home, marking the start of an eagerly anticipated hatching project for residents and staff. Since then, everyone has been busy preparing for the next stage, carefully setting up the incubator and getting the brooding cage ready while keeping a close eye on the eggs.

The images from the week capture the sense of anticipation perfectly. A poster announcing the arrival of the duck eggs has been proudly displayed on the notice board, with a row of cheerful yellow toy ducks underneath adding a fun touch. Other photos show the incubator holding seven eggs, a duck painting placed behind it, and the eggs being carefully positioned inside. The brooding cage has also been prepared with straw and a feeder, ready for the ducklings when they hatch, while one photo shows help with opening a bag of straw as part of the set-up.

Projects like this can bring great interest and enjoyment to life in the home. Watching the process unfold encourages conversation, curiosity and shared anticipation, giving residents something meaningful to look forward to together.

For now, everyone at Cambrian Lodge is waiting patiently and watching closely, with fingers crossed for some happy hatching news soon.
