There was a lovely atmosphere at Cambrian Lodge on Day 7 of the egg hatching experience, as residents enjoyed watching their families and friends visit the ducklings.

The ducklings have already become a real talking point within the home, and this latest stage of the journey gave visitors the chance to share in the excitement. Photographs from the day show groups of children gathered around as a carer carefully held a duckling on a pink fluffy pillow, while residents looked on and enjoyed seeing younger visitors taking such an interest. Another image captures two girls seated on the floor beside the duckling, taking in the moment quietly and gently.

Alongside these visits, the ducklings themselves remained at the heart of the day. Several images show them huddled together in their cage, including close-up and overhead views, as well as a cosy scene of the ducklings gathered around their heater.

Moments like these can be especially meaningful in a care home setting, bringing together residents, relatives and younger generations through a shared experience. Watching family and friends engage with the ducklings can spark conversation, encourage connection and add to the sense of community within the home.

At Cambrian Lodge, Day 7 was a gentle and enjoyable part of the hatching experience, with the ducklings continuing to bring people together and create warm moments across the generations.
