There was plenty of excitement at Cambrian Lodge on Day 10 of the egg hatching journey, as the ducklings showed just how much they have grown in confidence.

Now much more eager to explore, the fluffy ducklings enjoyed coming out to play and made the most of their free time in the lounge. Photographs from the day show the little group gathered around their drinker in the cage, before heading off for a lively splash in trays of water. As expected, there was plenty of paddling, plenty of mess and lots of entertainment for everyone watching.

Residents clearly enjoyed following the ducklings’ progress. Two photographs show female residents watching the ducklings in the water, while others capture gentler moments as residents stroke the ducklings on a pink fluffy pillow after their playtime. One image also shows a duckling drying off in a soft area, offering a quieter contrast to the splashing and bustle.

To add to the fun, residents watched Daffy Duck cartoons on the television while the ducklings had their time out in the lounge, bringing an extra touch of humour to the afternoon. The accompanying videos of the ducklings paddling and drying themselves helped capture just how lively and engaging the session was.

Activities like this can bring a real sense of interest and connection within the home, giving residents something to enjoy together while following the ducklings’ development day by day.
