Residents at Ashfield enjoyed a lively and cheerful 1950s-themed Dancercise session this week using the Our Echo Activities platform.

The session gave everyone the chance to get moving, sing along to familiar songs and enjoy a fun burst of activity together. To add to the atmosphere, residents used bright, sparkly pom poms, bringing plenty of colour and energy to the morning. The photographs capture lots of happy moments, with residents proudly holding blue, silver, green, red and purple pom poms as they joined in.

One image shows a smiling resident balancing a red pom pom on her head, while others show residents seated in a row waving their pom poms together and enjoying the music. A male resident is also pictured taking part with enthusiasm, waving his pom pom during the session. The mix of movement, music and familiar tunes created a relaxed and engaging atmosphere that encouraged everyone to join in at their own pace.

Activities like Dancercise can play an important role in supporting wellbeing, helping residents stay active while also boosting mood, encouraging social interaction and bringing back memories through music. The 1950s theme added an extra touch of fun, with plenty of opportunities for singing along and sharing the moment together.

It was a joyful session filled with movement, music and laughter, and a lovely example of how activity and enjoyment go hand in hand at Ashfield.
