The kitchen at The Firs was a hive of happy activity as residents rolled up their sleeves to celebrate Cornflake Day by making delicious chocolate cornflake cakes.
From stirring the mixture to carefully spooning it into cake cases, everyone enjoyed getting hands-on and taking part in each step. It was a lovely, relaxed session with plenty of chatting, laughter, and that unmistakable “something tasty is happening” feeling in the air. Activities like baking are brilliant for encouraging independence and choice, while also supporting dexterity and confidence through simple, familiar tasks.
After the cakes were finished and set aside, the morning continued with a fishing game, a fun activity that supports hand-eye coordination and gentle movement. Residents enjoyed the challenge, cheering each other on and sharing a few competitive smiles along the way.
All in all, it was a really enjoyable morning at The Firs, combining creativity, teamwork, and a sweet treat to look forward to.
