Residents at Lake View enjoyed a lively and engaging activity session today as everyone gathered together to play a variety of card games.
Alongside familiar favourites, residents also learned a few new games, including Higher or Lower, Chase the Ace and a new-found favourite around the table — Go Fish. The games quickly brought plenty of smiles, laughter and a touch of friendly competitiveness as residents tried their luck and tested their card skills.
Card games are not only great fun, they also help support cognitive function, memory and strategic thinking, while encouraging social interaction between residents. Simple activities like these can also help reduce feelings of stress or anxiety, boost self-esteem and keep hands active, supporting dexterity.
Most importantly, the room was full of smiles as everyone joined in, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and sociable afternoon at Lake View.
It was wonderful to see everyone involved, sharing laughs and enjoying a little light-hearted competition together.
