It was eyes down at Ashfield this morning as residents came together for a lively game of bingo.
As always, the game was taken seriously, with plenty of concentration as residents kept a close eye on their bingo sheets and the numbers appearing on the screen. The photographs show residents fully engaged in the game, from a female resident focusing carefully on her card to a seated resident watching the latest bingo ball number on screen. Another image captures residents gathered together around the display, enjoying the session as a group.
Alongside the competition, there was a lovely sense of support and encouragement throughout the morning. Staff were on hand to help where needed, with one photograph showing a carer assisting a female resident with her bingo sheet and another showing a carer standing with a male resident as they checked the numbers together. It was a heartwarming reminder that activities like bingo are not only fun, but also bring people together in a very natural way.
There were cheers all round as residents encouraged one another and shared in the excitement of the game. Congratulations went to Phil, who was the house winner on the day.
Simple group activities like this can do so much for wellbeing, offering social connection, mental stimulation and a chance for everyone to enjoy a bit of friendly competition. At Ashfield, it made for a fun and cheerful start to the day.
