There was a lovely creative atmosphere at Ashfield as residents spent time making their own cherry blossom artwork to celebrate the signs of spring.
Using tissue paper and glue, residents carefully created beautiful blossom pictures, building up delicate pink flowers on images of vases filled with branches. The session sparked plenty of conversation, with everyone chatting about springtime, their own gardens and the changing season, all while enjoying a cuppa together.
The photos from the activity capture both the concentration and the pride involved in the process. Residents can be seen carefully applying glue with brushes, placing tissue paper blossom onto their pictures and adding the finishing touches. Other images show residents proudly holding up their completed artwork, while finished pieces by Maureen and Mike highlight the variety and charm of each creation.
Creative activities like this offer more than just a chance to make something beautiful. They encourage focus, support fine motor skills and provide a calm, enjoyable space for conversation and self-expression. The social side of the session was just as important, with residents sharing memories and seasonal thoughts as they worked side by side.
The finished cherry blossom pictures looked wonderful, and the activity brought a gentle sense of spring indoors at Ashfield. It was a relaxed and engaging session, full of creativity, companionship and colour.
