This morning at Ashley House, we were delighted to welcome a wonderful group of toddlers from Joys Childcare. The visit brought a gentle, happy energy into the home, and residents thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the children.
From the moment they arrived, there were plenty of smiles and warm conversation as residents watched the toddlers explore and play. The activities were simple but full of joy: in the photos you can see the children colouring on the floor with paper and crayons and concentrating on wooden shapes as they build and sort. Another lovely moment shows toddlers and residents playing together with tennis balls, encouraging interaction and shared laughter.
These intergenerational visits have a very special quality. The toddlers’ natural curiosity, chatter and giggles created an uplifting atmosphere, and residents responded with real delight. Many joined in, offering encouragement and enjoying the chance to connect in a relaxed, informal way.
We could see the positive impact straight away, the children’s laughter and bright smiles helped to lift residents’ spirits, bringing companionship and a welcome change of pace to the morning. Thank you to everyone at Joys Childcare for visiting and sharing such a cheerful time with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ashley House again soon.
