There was a real sense of spring at Ashley House today as residents enjoyed a wonderful visit from some lambs.

From the moment they arrived, the lambs brought instant smiles. Residents loved watching them bounce about, and many took the chance to get close, gently stroking, petting and cuddling them. These calm, hands-on moments created a lovely atmosphere around the home, with plenty of conversation and shared enjoyment.

The photos capture the visit beautifully. One resident can be seen seated and softly patting a white lamb, clearly enjoying the gentle interaction. In another, two residents sit together while one holds a black and white lamb, looking pleased to have such a special visitor on her lap. A carer is also pictured holding the black and white lamb while a resident strokes it, showing the supportive, reassuring way staff helped everyone feel comfortable and involved.

Animal visits like this can be incredibly positive for wellbeing. They offer soothing sensory experiences, encourage social engagement, and often bring back fond memories of countryside life and family pets. Most of all, today’s visit brought genuine joy and happiness to residents; a simple, heart-warming reminder of how much comfort can come from time spent with animals.
