Job description:

At South West Care Homes we take the health and wellbeing of our residents and staff very seriously. Ideally you will have experience of working with older people in a social care setting but we are also keen to talk to you if you are new to care, have a passion for looking after people and a good understanding of the needs of people with dementia. All training is provided and we can help you achieve this goal. Shifts are from 20:00 – 08:00 and include weekends.

What you’ll be doing

Taking responsibility for the support, physical and emotional well being and social needs of our residents.

Assisting and providing support for residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals.

Checking residents regularly through the night, to make sure they are safe and reassured.

Helping to maintain accurate records, using our advanced iPod based care system, and undertaking ongoing training.

Generally promoting our residents’ independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care.

What you’ll need

Ideally, some experience in a care environment and an NVQ in Care, although this is not as essential as your genuine desire to develop a career in this field

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team

A respectful, courteous and compassionate nature and a belief in giving your personal best at all times and striving for continuous improvement

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £11.70-£12.05 per hour

Expected hours: 40 hours
