Residents at Ashfield made the most of the sunshine with a lovely day of singing, laughter and gardening.

The day included a cheerful musical session with Claire, who was filmed singing Beside the Seaside while playing the keyboard, with residents joining in. The music brought a lively atmosphere to the home, with singing and shared laughter helping everyone enjoy the moment together.

Residents also spent time planting sunflower seeds for the garden. Photos show residents taking part both outside in the sunshine and indoors, carefully planting seeds into individual pots, many of them labelled with residents’ names. It was a simple but meaningful activity, giving everyone the chance to get involved and look forward to seeing their sunflowers grow over the coming weeks.

Activities like these can support wellbeing in lots of different ways. Music can lift the mood and encourage connection, while gardening offers a calm and purposeful experience that can be both relaxing and rewarding. Bringing the two together made for a warm and engaging day that celebrated the season and the enjoyment of spending time together.

With sunshine overhead, songs being sung and sunflower seeds now planted, it was a happy and positive day at Ashfield.
